ITV was launched in 1955 and is the second most watched channel in the United Kingdom after BBC One.
ITV is the biggest and most popular commercial channel in the UK and is funded solely by TV commercials. The channel´s main competitor has been BBC One since the 1950´s. Up until 2013, ITV was branded as ITV1 and since then the channel is simply named iTV.
ITV offers a broad range of TV programmes, including popular soaps, children’s TV, movies, documentaries, news, sports and quiz shows. iTV is famous for household names, such as, Coronation Street, Britain´s Got Talent and Emmerdale Farm. ITV also offers a time shift version of the channel, should you miss viewing a programme, you can watch it on ITV+1 an hour later.
